Intracranial Tuberculoma

Abstract
A retrospective analysis of 12 cases with intracranial tuberculoma who were admitted to Inha General Hospital from 1989 to 1994 was made according to their age and sex, clinical symptoms and sings, disease histories, brain computed toographie
findings
and histopathological study.
@ES The results were as follows:
@EN 1. Seven patients were men and five were women.
2. the age distributions of patients were 17 to 56 years old.
3. The most common clinical symptom was seizure and followed by headache, dizziness and vertigo, motor paralysis and dysphasia in order.
4. Of 5 patients who had the past history of tuberculosis, 3 patients had the pulmonary tuberculosis and 2 patients had the spine tuberculosis and the tuberculous pericarditis respectively.
5. at admission, 4 patients had the associated other systemic organ tuberculoses, namely two were pulmonary tuberculoses and two were tuberculous pleurisy and tuberculous pericarditis with pleurisy respectively.
6. The most common location of the lesion was the frontal lobe. None had the multiple locations.
7. The associated brain edemas showed various degrees.
8. Computed tomography scan with contrast showed homogeneous enhance mass in 8 patients, heterogeneous enhanced mass in 1 patients and ring enhanced mass in 3 patients.
